What are gasifiers? . . .
Gasifiers are devices that produce an alternative
fuel known as synthesis gas or syngas. The science behind gasifiers &
gasification are not covered in this website. The following links and many
others provide substantial information:

There are many kinds of gasifiers & each is
designed for a particular fuel. As this website is Filipino owned, we are happy
to feature below a gasifier designed for rice husks by another Filipino.
The Belonio Rice Husk Stove is the first TLUD (Top
Lit Updraft) gasifier than can use small particle fuel like rice-husks. It is
described below.
Belonio Rice Husk Gasifier
Rice-producing countries like the Philippines
generate vast amounts of rice husk - a solid waste that has very low useful
value. It is often burned to reduce its volume at the expense of releasing
smoke (CO2) into the atmosphere.
Industrial-size rice-husk gasifiers produce syngas as
a fuel to cheaply generate mechanical & electrical power.
The Belonio Rice-Husk Gasifier can be used to
produce cooking fuel in-expensively in lieu of firewood, charcoal or LPG. Doing
so also helps reduce problems associated with rice-husks as a solid waste.
